Warren's Make All-Stars!

A week ago I solicited my family to show off their All-Star moments in honor of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game appearing in San Francisco.

Here's the great and diverse responses:

Since I've been at Sac State for two semesters now, I've had all A's. That's pretty all-star, right?

February 16, 2007-First grandchild born.
April 28, 2007-Found Grandparents hometown and cousins in Spain. Was given box of "Nana's" cookies by cousins who own tiny bakery in that town.
July, 2007- Though I hadn't done this since I was a kid, me and Nini ran through her sprinklers in her front yard, to cool off on a hot summer day in Escondido.

After never being in a gym before I guess my all star moment would be that I now am working out on a consistent basis. My oldest son Trenton works for 24 hr Fitness & generously bought me & his sister,Rivianna a membership to the club. It's great to get out of the house,it's fun & it makes me feel better physically, mentally & emotionally. It's been fun sharing the experience with Rivi who works out almost every day. I try to go at least three times a week. We have a new club in Rancho Cordova & it's just beautiful with a pool, sauna, basketball court as well as the top of the line equipment. Their grand opening is this Saturday. My goal is to lose weight & get healthier. I thank you Trenton for this most wonderful gift. Me to the power of 24 !!!

Hey Now, I'm An All Star!

I left my job in December '06 and successfully continued our business from home abling me to became the mother and wife I longed to be.

Tim sold a HUGE wedding and was able to buy his own lighitng equipment. Now he is able to continue to provide for our family and joined Karate after a 20 year absence.

David became of Father to Collin Ray in August '06.

Samara became the first GIRL at Escondido High School to join the wrestling team and continues to try and change all wording to read "Escondido High Wrestling" instead of "Boys Wrestling".

Nicki was in her first professional theater play, "Suessical" and has just finished her second one, "High School Musical".

Alana had a huge "All Star" moment in swim class. She is almost done with her 6th week and can swim the community pool, from side to side, front and back stroke. YEAH!

Collin is taking his first steps and is now pointing and talking.

In June I completed my third AIDS/LifeCycle ride, which is a 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Over the years I raised about $11,000 dollars for the SF AIDS Foundation. Along the journey (see posts from earlier this year) I've met hundreds of interesting individuals and challenged myself in ways I didn't even consider before. The ride generally requires 6 months of training (mostly weekends), endless fundraising and takes alot of time and money. I used a different bike for each ride. Each time I say it will be my last, but it gets more fun and keeps challenging me each year.

Ariana Maryland (my 1st grandaughter) got advanced to 3rd Grade reading class even though she was in the second grade. She also lost her 2 front teeth but growing some new ones now.

Leila Ann-Marie Maryland (my 2nd grandaughter) was born on May 8, 2007.

Amari David Ford (my first grandson) went poo-poo in his potty for the first time last week...Yeah! He then flushed it and said "bye-bye". (Tee-hee)

One Love,
Peggy

Wow, I am so inspired how our lives has changed. What a great year in some ways and a struggling year in others. You go "Grandma's" and to Cefe...I am slacking at Curves (1x a week) boo! I am proud that you and Rivi are doing this together...that helps. We all have many decisions to make in our lives: JOBS/KIDS/WORK but no matter what you are doing MOM is looking down on us and I know she is so proud of her "little chickens". -Anita

Didn't get this in earlier, so here's Damitz's All-Star Moments:

Dave: High performance review at work. PTA Pres.; commended for good service by Principal and re-elected for this coming school year.

Maria: High performance review at work with time off award for 40 hrs.

Carson: Told me he doesn't think he did anything special but "sneaking" this in: Grade of 4 (advanced) in P.E. and good grades in Math and Language Arts. Went from 17 to 85 wpm in Reading and received Handwriting Award. Learned soccer in "skill training" classes and will start "competitive" soccer soon.

Losing Mom & Terry within 6 mos. has been difficult for me, but having the supportive, caring and loving family we do, as well as good friends has been a blessing.
