Shahera Wins Mix-n-Match Contest

Last week I published a mix-n-match contest for the family (see previous post).

Here are the correct answers:
1. Alana = H. Hanna Montana
2. Rochelle = D. Pink
3. Rivianna = A. Patti Lupone
4. Rayna =B. Tony Bennett
5. Shahera = I. Red Hot Chili Peppers
6. Brian = J. Jack Johnson
7. Rick = E. Ray LaMontagne
8. Gia = L. John Legend
9. Anita = K. Carole King
10. Josefa = F. Judy Collins
11. Maria = M. Tower of Power
12. Dave D. = G. Led Zeppelin
13. Peggy = C. Carlos Santana

Although there wasn't a tie the bonus answer to Dad's favorite singer is: Ella Fitzgerald (would also accept Bing Cosby)

Late addition: Susy=Frank Sinatra

The winner is Shahera with 10 out of 13 right, she only inverted Rayna, Brian and Me. Shahera wins a free CD of her choice. Congratulations!

Second place was a tie with 9 correct (Anita, Susy).

Thanks to everyone who participated and if you have any other ideas for this blog, please let me know.

Un-cel I think you should do a Harry Potter related blog quiz...some aunts, uncles, and cousins have already finished book 7!

I challenge Anita to a second place winners spot. If she wins, she is 2nd A and I can be 2nd B. i said Dad's favorite singer was Rayna, Ella F., or the Celtic singers. What did she say? i think i should get credit for Ella! yes? no?

I agree with rayna on Harry Potter book 7. The Schroeters, Rayna, Sniders, Rivi all book 7 savvy, Of course Ricky isn't, so we have to create our own quiz. First Question: I know the recipe for butterbeer, do you?

Hey, leave me out of the Harry Potter nonsense (jk). But I said Ella too. Another contest maybe? Hollister trivia?

One more thang...I had trouble on Brian, Ricky & Gia too and I mixed Maria & Dave D up? I thought Dave was the TofP fan? Did mine stump anyone?

I'm up for the Harry Potter quiz, but as Susy said, I'm not savvy. You are welcome to submit 3 questions if you read the book and I will post here.

Anita, it's Ray LaMontagne not the actor w/o the La. Your welcome to creat a Hollister trivia game, but you know I'll win.

Susy, why can't 2nd place be a tie between the sisters san diego? Yes, you both mentioned Ella. In addition to Bing Dad also mentioned Frank Sinatra. So you have that in common.

Okay, anita and I can tie for second. I got Rick and Brian correct by listening to the artists on their websites. Brian's favorite is a surfer and I thought of the Hawaiian influence and Rick's sings jazz. We can tie for 2nd, Nini, it's not like we have to fight over the silver medal, since their ain't one.

Who wants to submit some Harry Potter book 7 questions? I have some: What motivated Snape to be "good" and be willing to be a spy for Dumbledore and protector of a boy he hated? Also, Whose death made you cry the most and why? (no correct answer, more of a personal opinion) Third, In the final book an object that first appears in book one returns and has a significant role in the Christ like walk to Calvary that Harry undertakes. What is that object, what magic power does it have and what is the "spiritual" significance of the mysterious saying associated with it that Harry only understands at the end? Too heavy? Not for us Harry Pottter fans!! Question 4: How did you like the epilogue ("19 years later") (also, no correct answer, but would love to hear what you have to say.

Oh yeah, Rayna and I found recipe for butterbeer from Madam Rosmerta in Hogsmead, bought the ingredients, which are club soda, butterscotch topping and butter. Then Geoff made them, and the result?... well, all three of us agree it tastes pretty yucky.
