Wedding Plans (officially) Announced!

So we finally have a firm date, church and reception location to announce as of today:

Gia and I will be married on September 27, 2008 at Old Mission San Juan Bautista. The ceremony will begin at 3pm. The reception will immediately follow with full dinner and dancing at Don Christopher Ranch, also in San Juan.

We are currently working on hotel options and registry info for our guests. We'll be sending out electronic "Save the Date" cards soon.

Thanks for your patience during this difficult decision. We are super excited and moving forward with the details.

Excellent! I'll play the part of the drunken friend who hits on all the women.

Do you have a crossing guard yet for the wedding? I think we may know of someone...

I will be playing the part of the "she still looks pregnant with a 2 month old baby" at the wedding. ha. I am so glad you picked San Juan, it'll make for a beautiful wedding. Hope we get some of that great French Bread from the Bakery. Maybe we can sneak across the street and get a cookie too....ha.

Love, Anita

Exciting! Congrats. I like 3:00 and into Saturday evening! Seen the new show called "You've Been Crashed"? The bridal couple pull one over on family and friends for 2 days prior and wedding day by having things go wrong, behavior such as "drunken friend who hits on all the women", etc. It's revealed at some point during reception, actors come forth, and everyone loves it! The show then surprises them with an awesome honeymoon. Thought of you, Rick, but figured you two are too classy to have "wedding crashers" and exciting enough on own!

Don Christopher is married to the ex-wife of my first crush. They won't be invited will they?

Anonymous sibling --- hmm! This is getting good!! I googled Don Christopher Ranch but couldn't find any photos. Does look like garlic will be included in the menu! Can you tell us more about the ranch and the setting?

OK, I'm guessing anonymous sister is #3. I don't believe Don will be there nor his current wife, you're first crush's ex.

This is a private ranch with horses, etc. in San Juan Bautista; There is a great house in the center of it all. They do a few weddings a year there. We haven't seen pictures of any of them as of yet. I believe Christopher bought it from the Lavignino family some years ago. It's a beautiful setting, very open air and great views of the mountains at 360 degrees.

Lavignino House? Is that where we were taken as kids to go fishing and cut off the heads of chickens by John Lavignino? Just wondering, hope you aren't serving Chicken? Ha

Anita,
I believe the lake we fished at and the chicken ranch was right next to this estate. I'll ask Anne Caetano.

Hey Rick,

Do you have the address of the reception? We can google map it.

Butch,
I don't have the address yet, but it's on 2nd Street and a half mile away from The Mission. I'll be getting the address later on.
